Do you know the name similar with Waterpolo but that is played on a kayak? Do you know what is a bearing? Do you know how many km has the perimeter of Banyoles' lake? These are some of the 10 questions of "Show us how much you know about Canoeing!", a quiz that this Wednesday, 9th of June, has been presented by the Mayor of Banyoles, Miquel Noguer, and the director of the competition, Joan Anton Abellan.
This campaign has the objective of promoting the competition among the citizens of Banyoles. Everyone who wants, can take a brochure, answer the questions and participate in the quiz (available from the 10th of June to the 14th of July). On the 15th of July there will be a lottery where the winner can get a dinner for two persons at Vora Estany restaurant and 5 initiation courses of Canoeing. The mayor of Banyoles Miquel Noguer, has told during the press conference that "international sports competitions bring prestige to the town and als are a good ecnominc promotion".
The World Marathon Championships 2010 in Banyoles will be held from the 22 to the 26 of September. It will be the first World Championships where disabled sportsmen will compete. The first nations that has confirmed its presence are Germany, Czech Republic, SouthAfrica or Singapur, among others.
